Puncture Resistance Tester is used to measure the resistance of paper, paperboard and other similar materials when subjected to puncture and determination of absorbed energy.
Resistance to puncture is an important parameter that determines quality of a wide range of materials - from thin papers to thick boards and similar materials.
The specimen is clamped on a fixture and is pierced with the help of a pendulum released from 90 Degree position.
 The pendulum head is made pointed in a pyramid shape.
A pointer is fitted in the pendulum which gives the reading in a calibrated scale.
The corrugated box may get an impact from the sharp corner of any article during handling and transportation.
