Edge Crush Tester

Edge Crush Tester helps in measuring the edgewise compressive Strength of corrugated boxes. This value of compressive Strength is measured by the help of an Edge Crush Tester. RCT/FCT/Edge Crush Tester displays the crushing resistance in terms of Kg/Unit length. However, for ease and better understanding the final peak load is usually reported as an ECT value. Hence, the Edge Crush Tester can be used to accurately measure the ECT Value.

The instrument has a multiple applicate as the following tests can be conducted on one single instrument:
1.    Edge crush test 
2.    Ring crush tester
3.    Flat crush test 

The instrument has a wide application for corrugated box manufactures. This instrument is easy to operate and provides precise results.

RCT/FCT/Edge Crush Tester is manufactured under Test Standard IS 7063. 

Working principle of an edge crush tester

The edge crush tester is a lab testing instrument ergonomically designed for the paper & packaging industry. The working principle of an edge crush tester is to exert pressure on the edges of the specimen until it is deformed. The machine derives its accuracy and precision due to its ability to perform the test in 3 different realms – ring crush test, edge crush test as well as flat crush test. The machine offers a load cell of 100kgf allowing even the durable corrugated sheets to be tested with no struggle at all.
