Products must be tested against corrosion to ensure that they will be able to withstand exposure to the elements. This is especially important for metal products that will be used to design different products. Corrosion testing can help manufacturers determine the best materials and coatings to use on their products, as well as identify any potential design flaws that could lead to premature failure. Thus, we at Testronix have designed a high-quality lab testing instrument known as FRP salt spray chamber digital model.

This quality lab testing instrument has been designed with the latest (Fibre Reinforced Plastic) body which is highly rugged in structure and made in compliance with ASTM B117. It will be able to withstand an extremely corrosive environment. In this blog, we are going to provide you with information about this quality testing equipment and how this testing instrument is useful in testing materials in corrosive environments. But before that, let us discuss the importance of corrosion testing.

Importance of testing products for corrosion

Corrosion is a natural process that occurs when metals are exposed to oxygen and water. Over time, corrosion can cause metals to weaken and break down. This can lead to serious problems, such as structural damage, leaks, and contamination.
Thus, it is important for product manufacturers to test the quality of products before delivering them to the customers.

We at Testronix have designed a high-quality corrosion testing chamber that helps to understand how different materials will react to their environment over time. By testing materials in controlled conditions, we can learn about the rate at which they corrode and the best ways to protect them from corrosion.

This highly useful information is used by manufacturers of paint, plating, and coating industry to ensure the safety and longevity of the materials.

Now, let us discuss how the Testronix corrosion testing chamber is beneficial for metal products manufacturing firms.

All about Testronix salt spray chamber FRP digital model

Products must be tested against corrosion to ensure that they will be able to withstand exposure to the elements. The metal products must be tested for corrosion resistance. The salt spray chamber FRP model designed by the experts at Testronix Testing Instruments comes with the latest technology and the test chamber will be manufactured with a high-quality FRP body.

This corrosion testing instrument can help manufacturers to determine the best materials and coatings to use on their products, as well as identify any potential design flaws that could lead to premature failure.

This quality testing equipment is helpful in the quality assurance of metals by exposing them to a salt-laden environment. This quality testing equipment has been designed as per industry standards that include ASTM B117 and JIS Z 2371.

Now, let us discuss brief information about the features and technical specifications of the Testronix salt spray chamber FRP digital model.

With these high-end features and technical specifications, one can easily measure the corrosion resistance of surface coatings. Now, let us focus on the working of the salt spray chamber.

Working of salt spray chamber FRP digital model

To conduct a corrosion test on the metals, one can easily follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Turn ON the machine by plugging the mains socket of the machine into a 3-pin 15 amp socket. Ensure all operational safety notices and prerequisites have adhered to the standards.

  • Turn ON the “Main ON” Rocker Switch from the Control Panel.

  • Fill the air saturator with DM solution and connect M8- PU Pipe within the Air Saturator DM Water Inlet Port.

  • Prepare the salt solution to fill the DM Reservoir tank and clean the metallic or non-metallic coated specimens depending upon the nature of the surface using the nitric acid solution for chemical cleaning.

  • Specimens coated with paints or non-metallic should not be cleaned prior to the test with the nitric acid solution.

  • Place the specimen between 15 and 30 degrees from the vertical and preferably parallel to the main direction of the horizontal flow of fog through the chamber.

  • Commence the test.

In this way, you can easily test the sample for corrosion resistance. You can easily give us a call at +91 9313140140 or email us at info@testronixinstruments.com. Our team of technical experts will consult you regarding all your needs and queries.
