Drop testing is an essential process for determining how well products can withstand impacts during transportation or everyday use. It helps manufacturers ensure that their products meet quality standards and offer maximum protection to consumers. However, without proper safety measures in place, operating a drop tester can be a bit challenging. Therefore, it is important for the manufacturers of the paper and packaging industry to take care of some precautions before operating the drop strength tester for their packages.

In this blog, we will discuss a brief drop tester and its easy-to-operate procedure. We will also discuss some useful tips for safety precautions that you must take before operating this lab testing instrument. So, let us get started!

Test the Drop Strength of Your Packaging Boxes with a Manual Drop Tester

When the products are shipped in corrugated boxes then testing their strength and durability is of utmost importance. Thus, with the help of an accurate lab testing instrument known as a drop tester, manufacturers can easily assess the dropping ability of boxes and ensure that accurate products will be delivered to the customers.

Through subjecting a wide range of products to rigorous drop tests, manufacturers can gauge their ability to withstand accidental drops or mishandling during transportation or usage. Drop tester manual model is one of the most used lab testing equipment that can be used to test the durability of boxes against higher drops.

Now, let us discuss the working procedure of this drop-testing machine.

Working of Drop Testing Machine

1. Prepare the specimen by taking the corrugated box you want to test. Close all the sides of the corrugated box properly and apply tape on the sides to fasten them firmly.

2. Place the specimen on the platform in the centre. Make sure that the specimen is placed in the center of the plate otherwise the test results would not be correct.

3. Adjust the height of the platform by rotating the wheel which is provided on the side of the device in an upward direction or downward direction.  Now place the sample on the platform.

4. Now push down the handle which is provided on the back of the machine to drop the sample from a set height.

As you push the handle down, the door of the platform will bend and the sample will fall down. Now observe the sample for any kind of damage to check the drop strength of the corrugated box.

In this way, you can easily operate this testing machine. Manufacturers of the paper and packaging industry can easily ascertain the transportworthiness of boxes and ensure that accurate products will be delivered to the customers.
