In today’s era, the interesting technique of color shifting severely affects the pigments of the products that cause a change in hue when it is viewed from different angles. Coatings using this special effect of pigment depict a wide variety of colors when they are observed from different angles. This change in the colors and brightness is known as color travel.

How can the change in color be detected with change in angles?

Color of the pigments changes with the change in the source of illumination and viewing angle that creates a dazzling as well as dramatic effect on the product. These colors nowadays can be judges easily using a wide range of Portable color Testers. As per typical 45/0 Portable spectrophotometers, the illumination to the product is provided with the angle of 45 Degree, and the specular reflection or mirror reflection of this light is considered from 45-degree angle.  Such types of spectrophotometers are widely used to measure solid colors. But to measure the color of the coatings and plating, multi-angle spectrophotometers are required.

Significance of Multi-Angle Portable Spectrophotometers

The multi-angle spectrophotometers offer multiple angles to analyze the characteristics effects of coatings between two nearby reflection viewing angles and help to capture the data for the rich color changes. These angles create a huge difference between the specular reflection angles with respect to the viewing angle and hence affect the results of spectral reflectance curve as well.

Testronix’s Range of Spectrophotometers

Testronix, one of the renowned manufacturer, supplier, and exporter of Portable Color Testers offers high-quality of Spectrophotometers including TP 800. The spectrophotometer works on the principle of LED precision spectroscopy. The amazing device easily separates the luminance of the object as per the wavelength interval easily and adopts the group of sensors to perform the accurate analysis. It helps to measure the L x a x b value of the specimen and clearly, depicts the spectral reflectance curve that helps to measure the color of the pigments of the object.
