Preforms are a type of plastic that is molded or extruded into the desired shape and then used as a blank for the final product. The preforms should be balanced properly in order to assure its quality. Thus, it is important for the manufacturers to conduct preform perpendicularity tests on the products in order to ensure the quality of materials. Thus, to make it easy for the manufacturers to test the preform perpendicularity, we at Testronix Testing Instruments have designed a high-quality preform perpendicularity tester. This high-quality lab testing instrument is highly useful in testing the shape, size, and perpendicularity of preforms so that customers will get highly accurate testing results. Here we are going to provide you with brief information about this high-quality lab testing instrument and how you can easily conduct preform perpendicularity tests with the help of this lab testing equipment.

The importance of testing perpendicularity in preforms

As a preform manufacturer, it is important to ensure that your products are of the highest quality. This means ensuring that the products are manufactured to the correct specifications and tolerances. One important aspect of this is testing for perpendicularity, or verticality of these preforms. Perpendicularity is an important property for many reasons. If a preform is not perpendicular, then it will lead to failures in the quality of bottles. Perpendicularity also affects the strength and stability of the product. If a preform is not perpendicular, it may be weaker and more likely to break or collapse.

Another reason for testing the perpendicularity of preforms is that the perpendicularity affects the aesthetics of the product. A non-perpendicular preform may be unsightly and may not meet customer expectations. Testing for perpendicularity is important in order to ensure that preforms meet all requirements for quality and function. Thus, with the use of Testronix preform perpendicularity tester, one can easily measure the perpendicularity of preforms with ease. By testing the perpendicularity of the preforms, one can easily ensure that the products should be uniform and do not have any defects present in them.

This testing instrument has been equipped with highly advanced features that are listed below.

  • Easy and accurate operation
  • Consists of Zero Tolerance
  • Adjustable measurement operations are available
  • Repeatability in test measurements of bottles/blow molded containers
  • Very reliable and stable testing Results
  • Highly useful in PET and preform products manufacturing industry

With these advanced features, one can easily measure the uniformity and perpendicularity in preforms. Now, let us focus on the technical specifications of this high-quality lab testing equipment.

Technical Specifications of preform perpendicularity tester

  • Range 0 – 10 mm
  • The least count is 0.001 mm
  • Display LCD (Digital)
  • Linearity Check ± 0.010 mm with slip gauge

You can easily measure the perpendicularity of preforms with the help of this high-quality lab testing instrument.

How does preform perpendicularity tester work?

One of the most important aspects of creating a high-quality PET product is ensuring its perpendicularity. It ensures that parts are correctly aligned and fit together properly. When components are not perpendicular, they can cause issues with the function and aesthetics of the final product. Thus, with Testronix preform perpendicularity tester, one can easily measure the preforms perpendicularity and make sure an accurate product will be delivered.

To conduct the preform perpendicularity test, one can easily follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Place the Magnetic Stand on the base plate of the perpendicularity tester by the knob ON/OFF.
  • Adjust the dial gauge shaft on the rod according to the sample.
  • Mark 4 points on the preform in 360 degrees that the user needs to test.
  • Put the sample on the perform holder in such a manner that the gauge knob touches point 1 and presses up to 2 mm. At this point set the gauge to zero.
  • Now rotate the sample manually to point 2, if the reading remains zero it means the sample is perfectly perpendicular and if the reading increases or decreases it means it is not perpendicular.
  • Now rotate the sample to point 3 and then to point 4 and measure the deviation in the Preform perpendicularity (if any) from the digital gauge.

In this way, you can easily test the perpendicularity of the products. If there is a deviation in the reading from one point to another, it means the preform is not perfectly perpendicular. If you want to conduct a free sample testing session, using this lab testing instrument, then you can simply give us a call at +91 9313140140 or email us at info@testronixinstruments.com.
