Botany scientist nowadays are using color inspection system in order to detect or separate same looking vegetation or to discover new plant species. Some may depend on color inspection to catch the non-desired species or to improve the growth of those which are required and are endangered, as well as just for research purpose. The forest research scientist depend on color, along with other factors, to categorize same looking tree species and other plantation. In this post we will learn more about the spectrophotometer analysis in plant research.

There are multiple varieties of advanced inspection techniques which have been generated within years to help botany scientist who requires to inspect plants by their surface color. The primary base of such test methods were matching the color of the specimen plant with the standard chart. These charts played an important role for a long time history in color inspection. But, this method is not much reliable and they are vision based.

The Human vision do not have the ability to distinguish the finest shades of color just by looking at them. Although the chart may offer many shades to choose form but human brain can only guess to identify if the color matched a particular code form the chart they can’t be accurately sure.

Spectrophotometers overcome the issue of vision based errors in detection of color in plants. The device can assess color in multiple granule level compared to a human eye. This process will allow to differentiate between the color of charts and even the plants. It offers a 45/0 degree optical geometry which is required for such inspection.
